Welcome to my first blog post!

(And thank you for taking the time to bother!)

Hang on a minute, Heather! (I can hear you all cry.) Haven’t you got enough on your plate without adding a blog to it as well?!

And the answer is pretty much – yes!

There are also loads of brilliant bloggers around, who write the best articles and I’m honestly not sure I can compete with them, but this isn’t about that.

So why then?!

And the answer is honestly because I’m fed up with firing off quick social media posts about books I’ve enjoyed reading, fabulous weekends away at book festivals and my book tribe in general. (Another blog post about them another day!) I wanted somewhere I could flesh out my thoughts a little more and do some justice to some of the best bits of my life. I want to pay it back to all the brilliant people who have helped me along the way, and pay it forward so I can lend a helping hand to people on their journey.

This is where you’ll find my thoughts about books, publishing, festivals, my writing and anything else that takes my fancy, to be honest. And if you’d like me to write about something in particular, you can get in contact with me here.
